Ms Judith Tan
Master Trainer & Lecturer
Judith started giving private music lessons to individuals since her university days while pursuing both her business degree at NUS and her music teaching diploma from the Trinity College of London. She obtained her Licentiate diploma (LTCL) in 1987 and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from NUS in 1988.
Throughout her secondary school and college days, Judith played an integral role as school pianist, providing live music at school functions and concerts. She represented her school choir in SYF competitions, and was instrumental in the school's first production of a musical, "The King & I" for its centenary celebrations. She also formed a band, provided orchestral arrangement and led it to win the school's Talentime. She was awarded Merit Awards by the school for outstanding results in music (as a subject). While in college, she did an instrumental arrangement for an ensemble for a radio recording. She graduated from Raffles Girls' Secondary School and Raffles Junior College with distinctions in GCE 'O' and 'A' level music.
After getting her business degree and while working as a banker, Judith continued to give private music lessons on a part-time basis. She subsequently gave up her banking career when she was starting her family. She later started teaching MIM classes at Seimpi on a part-time basis when her children enrolled for music classes at Seimpi. During this time, she attended a summer program on Early Childhood Music Education at the University of Queensland in Brisbane in 2005. She left Seimpi in 2007 due to family commitment and re-joins Seimpi in 2012. Recently she completed a pop music composition course at the Lee Wei Song School of Music.
